ANCHORED IN VALUES<\/strong><\/p>

For lawyer Mr Zamiq Azmeer bin Borhanudin, success has remained constant since his student days \u2014 finding contentment while supporting those he loves. His time at NUS gave him not just legal knowledge but enduring values: pride in his work, a commitment to learning and compassion for the underprivileged.<\/p>

GIVING BACK THROUGH LAW<\/strong><\/p>

Mr Zamiq contributes to the legal community through scholarship and service. He authors legal articles \u2014 including one for the Singapore Academy of Law Journal clarifying a topic in Muslim law \u2014 and regularly gives talks for the Malay\/Muslim community through M3@Nee Soon and other mediums such as on the Lasting Power of Attorney. He also serves as a graduate mentor at SMU School of Law, teaching\u00a0undergraduates how to publish academic articles. \u201cIt\u2019s my way of sharing the expertise I\u2019ve\u00a0gained,\u201d he\u00a0said.<\/p>

EMPOWERING THE COMMUNITY<\/strong><\/p>

As a pioneer of pro bono initiative Lawyers@M3, co-founder of legal society PEGUAM, and pioneer Executive Committee member of the Muslim Legal Mentoring Network (a collaboration with the Association of Muslim Professionals), Mr Zamiq finds meaning in increasing legal awareness. \u201cIt\u2019s heartening when people begin to see lawyers not as a last resort, but as partners in protecting their interests,\u201d he said, noting that one of the biggest challenges in the Malay\/Muslim community is the reluctance to seek legal advice early. His mission is to encourage\u00a0early consultation and informed decision-making.<\/p>

LOOKING AHEAD<\/strong><\/p>

Mr Zamiq\u2019s goals include publishing more articles, writing a textbook on Muslim law, and qualifying as a solicitor in England and Wales. His pursuit of knowledge remains constant \u2014 a reflection of his belief that law, at its best, is a tool for service.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

FINDING BALANCE AND PURPOSE<\/strong><\/p>

For Ar. Chio Wen Tian, success has evolved from achieving milestones to finding harmony between purpose, ambition and personal well-being. \u201cSuccess starts with self-awareness,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s about aligning your path with your values and creating the right conditions to sustain that journey.\u201d<\/p>

BUILDING BRIDGES IN THE ARCHITECTURE COMMUNITY\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

As the current 1st Vice-President of the NUS Architecture Alumni Association, Ar. Chio is focused on connecting students, alumni and industry. He plans to help channel resources to student groups like The Architecture Society and spotlight alumni success stories to showcase diverse career paths. \u201cBy showing students the variety of paths open to them, we remind them they are part of a supportive, inspiring community,\u201d he shared.<\/p>

DESIGN FOR CONNECTION\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

Ar. Chio\u2019s project, Embrace! @ Yuhua, reimagines an underused MRT underpass into a community art gallery. Through participatory design, residents transformed steel hoarding panels into public art. The initiative demonstrates how design can foster dialogue, pride and belonging. \u201cDesign can heal invisible gaps in our city fabric,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s a call to architects to build not just structures, but communities.\u201d<\/p>

LEADING WITH EMPATHY<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>

A former Chair of the Young Architects League under the Singapore Institute of Architects, Ar. Chio sees leadership as empowering others and creating space for ideas to flourish. \u201cThe most impactful work doesn\u2019t chase trends \u2014 it listens deeply and responds thoughtfully to real human needs,\u201d he explained. His aspiration is to continue bridging design and society, showcasing architecture\u2019s role as a force for empathy, sustainability and\u00a0human\u00a0connection.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

LEARNING, PURPOSE AND GROWTH\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

For Ms Chung Wing Lam, success has evolved from checking achievements off a list to focusing on personal growth and meaning. \u201cInstead of comparing with others, my goal is to improve along my own path,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s about being purposeful in what we do \u2014 knowing the meaning behind our actions and letting our goals guide us.\u201d Her definition of success now extends beyond professional advancement to include personal resilience, adaptability and helping\u00a0others grow.<\/p>

NUS: THE SPARK OF LIFELONG LEARNING<\/strong><\/p>

Reflecting on her time at NUS, Ms Chung describes it as a period of \u201cgrowth and discovery.\u201d The lessons from her lecturers \u2014 rich\u00a0with real-world insights \u2014 continue to shape her career. Today, she gives back by mentoring students through NUS mentorship programmes and serving as a part-time tutor, a role she finds\u00a0deeply fulfilling.<\/p>

GIVING BACK, PAYING IT FORWARD<\/strong><\/p>

Ms Chung actively mentors pharmacy interns and pre-registration pharmacists at Watsons, guiding them through community pharmacy practice. She has also shared her expertise through NUS Health and Wellness talks, public health roadshows and international platforms such as the International Pharmaceutical Federation\u2019s FIPWiSE Toolkit for Women in Science and Education. A committed blood donor with over 40 donations, she hopes to inspire others to give as well. \u201cIt\u2019s a small gesture, but one that can save lives,\u201d she said.<\/p>

CHAMPIONING PREVENTIVE HEALTH\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

Ms Chung and her colleagues at Watsons are pioneering community pharmacy services like the Community Pharmacist Influenza Vaccination Sandbox, launched by the Ministry of Health in 2024. More than 1,200 vaccinations have since been administered, with positive public feedback. \u201cWe\u2019re now expanding the service and training more pharmacists,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s in line with Healthier SG\u2019s focus on preventive care.\u201d She is also involved in Watsons Diabetes Care, empowering participants to manage chronic conditions through personalised pharmacist support. \u201cHealth is wealth,\u201d she added. \u201cWe all want to be in good health to do the activities we love.\u201d<\/p>

TECHNOLOGY AS AN ENABLER<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>

Ms Chung believes digital innovation is transforming pharmacy practice. From data-driven inventory management to teleconsultation and eConsultation services, technology enables pharmacists to reach more people conveniently. \u201cIt broadens access to healthcare while allowing us to focus on what matters\u00a0most \u2014 patient care,\u201d she said.<\/p>

MENTORING THE NEXT GENERATION<\/strong><\/p>

Ms Chung encourages young pharmacists to keep learning and stay open to change. \u201cHealthcare evolves constantly,\u201d she said. \u201cLifelong learning, resilience and\u00a0adaptability are key.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
