On 16th August 2025, the newly-formalised NUS Alumni Network Sociology and Anthropology (NANSA) organised its inaugural event. 50 attendees, comprising faculty members, undergraduate and postgraduate students, and alumni attended a panel discussion on how recent graduates navigated life after graduation, and then mingled over pizza. Themed, “It’s Not Just About Jobs,” this event asked, how has studying Sociology and Anthropology shaped the way we imagine life beyond university?
Thank you to those that attended and chatted with us; we are gratified that older batches are returning to share so that current students can broaden their imagination of post-graduation pathways. This cross-generational transmission of knowledge is what we needed ourselves when we were younger, and we are glad that we now have connective infrastructure to facilitate it. We especially hope to bring alumni from earlier batches into the fold!
We’re working hard to set up connective infrastructure, please join us on Instagram @nussocianthroalumni (for the most active content) and the “NUS Sociology and Anthropology” LinkedIn Group (for an alumni directory and a platform to post).
