Supported by the NUS Office of Alumni Relations (OAR), this special event followed the morning’s NUS120 Homecoming @ Bukit Timah Campus on 20 September 2025 and brought together alumni based in Manila and Singapore. Attendees included alumni from Business, Computing, Design & Engineering, FASS, Law, Medicine, Public Health, and Science, as well as current Filipino students from LKYSPP, Business, FASS, and Science.
The gathering opened with a heartwarming prayer by Mr Jose Maria Buenagua (Law ’21), followed by welcome remarks from Mr Jack Ren Cong (Arts & Social Sciences ’11), Deputy Director of Global Alumni Engagement, who said:
“Our Manila alumni community has been steadfast in supporting NUS, from attending the NUS 120 Gala and Homecoming to championing community causes through NUS Cares. Your spirit of giving back is an inspiration.”
Chapter Chairperson Dr Venus Cloma-Rosales (Public Health ’13) presented videos on “The Year So Far” and “Tribute to NUS Manila’s First Six Years,” sharing:
“Being alumni of Asia’s number one university comes with both pride and responsibility. Giving back to NUS and to our communities is one of the ways we keep the NUS spirit alive.”
Networking over a sumptuous afternoon buffet encouraged deep conversations and meaningful introductions among alumni representing business, government, academia, and the private sector.
The event concluded with an overview of NUS Cares by Ms Patricia Yambing (Business ’15), highlighting the chapter’s commitment to community impact:
“Even if it is not required, we believe it is our responsibility to give back, because we have been fortunate to receive an NUS education.”
This year, NUS Manila supported PGH Pediatrics Wards 9 and 11, donating supplies to bridge urgent gaps in pediatric patient care.
