At the end of August, the LKYSPP–NUS Alumni Vietnam Chapter organised its annual community trip to Trà Vinh province, visiting the ECO Vietnam Group (EVG) Learning Center 3. Founded by Mr Harry Pham Van Anh (MPA ’17), the Center was established to provide free, quality educational programmes for children in rural areas. Beyond education, the Center also carries out a wide range of community initiatives—offering scholarships, providing bicycles for disadvantaged students, and supporting the construction of roads, bridges, and shelters for families in need.
This year’s trip brought together alumni from LKYSPP–NUS and their children, united by a shared spirit of service and compassion. Together, they installed solar streetlights in the commune, enhancing safety for local residents by extending safe travel and working hours into the evening. Alumni families also prepared meaningful gifts for students who had been actively engaged in EVG’s summer programmes, recognising their efforts and encouraging their continued learning journey. A special highlight of the visit was celebrating six local students who had successfully passed the national university entrance examination. To honor their achievements, the alumni presented them with gifts as they embark on the next stage of their education—symbolising hope, perseverance, and the belief that education can transform lives.
Through this trip, alumni and their families not only contributed to community development but also shared lasting bonds of empathy and inspiration with the people of Trà Vinh. It was a powerful reminder of the values of LKYSPP and NUS: to learn, to serve, and to lead with heart.
